Meeting Agenda & Objectives
Meeting Description
he meeting started with a hearty welcome of all participants and a review of the meeting programme. The aims of the meeting were also clearly stated. We continued with team introductions.
A representative of Erasmus+ National Agency in Poland, Ms Izabela Laskowska, gave a word of introduction to WeRskills project background and objectives. She emphasised the importance of the identification of good practices related to the organisation of skills competitions in partner countries and the exchange of knowledge and experience between the partners which will result in reliable and useful outputs.
Project Coordinator prepared an overview of WeRskills project background and objectives, summarised the intellectual outputs, talked about the multiplier events, and discussed the scope of the LTT activity and disseminating activities planned in the project. Moreover, the project consortium identified the areas for further development and allocated tasks for the next meeting.
ÉVOSZ, EDITC and KBiN prepared presentations to familiarise the pertnership with the state of skills competitions in their countries. We discussed the experience of partner countries in preparation for participation in EuroSkills, documentation necessary for national skills competitions as well as the requirements and methods for recruiting competitors.
Conclusions:
Szakma Sztár Fesztivál is not the qualification event for Euroskills because the winners are usually too young to participate in EuroSkills and WorldSkills (their level of professional experience does not match international standards)
the qualifications for Euroskills and WorldSkills are organised by the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce (HCC), which has funding from the government
sponsors sign contracts with HCC and finance the qualification events (they use the „training fund” calculated as 1.5% of personnel costs)
the selection process of EuroSkills participants is long and multi-stage
qualifications for EuroSkills and WorldSkills in Cyprus are carried out by a government agency Cyprus Productivity Center, which until recently had a monopoly on adult training. Its promotional activities are hardly visible, which suggests that it selects participants from among the people participating in the trainings offered by this institution
partner from Cyprus plan to examine the issue more thoroughly by means of interviews with the employees of the abovementioned agency
